The Historical Wound Roller: on the Visby 1361 table, a Danish man-at-arms has cut a Gotland levy's left leg; the body chart shades where blows land and the casualty card shows bleeding and penalties.
A Danish man-at-arms cuts a Gotland levy's left leg at Visby, 1361. The levy now fights at −20% attack, −40% defence.

How it works

  1. Pick a fightChoose a war's table and a weapon. Each table comes from a real record: skeletons, surgeons' reports, pension rolls, medical studies.
  2. Set the sceneOptional situations (higher ground, fleeing, flanked, cover), a called shot, target armour, and an attack and defence roll.
  3. Roll the hitGet the location (down to the left forearm), wound type and severity, and its effects: bleeding, pain, impairment, time to death untreated.
  4. Track the woundedApply hits to casualties, bleed them by round or minute, bind and tourniquet, and let their wounds cut their attack and defence.

What's covered

Every table says how directly it comes from its source (historical, fitted or extrapolated), and every war has a history panel with the sides, how each used armour, and example combatants. Sources are listed in the roller and the PDF.
